Acute thoracoabdominal and hemodynamic responses to tapered flow resistive loading in healthy adults

چکیده
We investigated the acute physiological responses of tapered flow resistive loading (TFRL) at 30, 50 and 70 % maximal inspiratory pressure (PImax) in 12 healthy adults to determine an optimal load. Increased end-inspiratory rib cage decreased end-expiratory abdominal volumes equally contributed expansion thoracoabdominal tidal volume (captured by optoelectronic plethysmography). A significant decrease was observed from 30 PImax, PImax. Cardiac output (recorded cardio-impedance) increased rest across three trials. Borg dyspnoea 2.36 ± 0.20 3.45 0.21 4.91 0.25 End-tidal CO2 during %PImax (26.23 0.59, 25.87 1.02 24.30 0.82 mmHg, respectively). Optimal intensity for TFRL is PImax maximise global respiratory muscle cardiovascular whilst minimising hyperventilation breathlessness.

Macular hemodynamic responses to short-term acute exercise in young healthy adults
We investigated the effects of vigorous exercise on blood flow in the macular vasculature. The velocity and density of entoptically viewed leukocytes in the paramacular retinal capillaries were measured with an Oculix BFS-2000 blue field simulator in 18 healthy adults first at rest, and then after 20 min of exercise. Exercise typically increased the density of leukocytes with more variable effe...
متن کاملSomePhysiological Responses to Acute Passive in Healthy Young Adults Smoking
Procedures: Fig. 1. Every subject took parts in 2 successive experiments, that is, a control experiment by sham smoking with non-lit cigarettes and an actua] passive smoking experiment. The habitual smekers took parts in both the experiments as passive smokers and active smokers. All of the subjects participated in the experiments in groups of 2 nonsmokers and 2 smokers. The subjects spent 3 an...
متن کاملAcute effects of different inspiratory resistive loading on heart rate variability in healthy elderly patients.
BACKGROUND The cardiovascular system is noticeably affected by respiration. However, whether different inspiratory resistive loading intensities can influence autonomic heart rate (HR) modulation remains unclear. OBJECTIVE The objective was to investigate HR modulation at three different inspiratory resistive loading intensities in healthy elderly men. METHOD This was a prospective, randomi...
متن کاملAcute Cardiovascular and Hemodynamic Responses to Low Intensity Eccentric Resistance Exercise with Blood Flow Restriction
BACKGROUND Recently it has been suggested that low intensity (LI) resistance exercise (RE) alone or in combination with blood flow restriction (BFR) can be applied for cardiovascular function improvement or rehabilitation. OBJECTIVES The aim of the present study was to investigate the acute effects of LI eccentric RE with and without BFR on heart rate (HR), rate pressure product (RPP), blood ...
متن کاملAcute and chronic effects of exercise on irisin in healthy adults
Background: Irisin is a myokine that secrets from muscle during and after the exercise and induces non-shivering thermogenesis after stimulation of uncoupling protein-1 (UCP1) gene expression and elevation of number and size of mitochondria. Therefore, irisin activity is effective in reduction of fat percent that lead to treatment of obesity. The aim of this review study was to investigate the ...
